Merry Christmas Everyone

Ok, I just realized that I haven't posted in over 3 months. That is way too long. I have been very busy with Jasper and any of you with a young child can understand. A lot has changed since my last post. I am now getting the pleasure of staying at home with Jasper. This has been fun and challenging at the same time. I think if I do go back to work Jasper will have a very hard time not being with me every day. He was already Mommy's boy but now it has reached a new level. I can't even go upstairs to take a shower without him standing at the bottom of the steps crying. Daddy just doensn't baby him the way Mommy does. :-) So, is everyone ready for Christmas. We still have a few thing to get so we will be out tomorrow fighting the crowds to get our last minute gifts. My friends Debi and Jami had a wonderful Christmas party last Friday for the kids and Jasper had the best time. Santa made an appearance and I was worried about how Jasper would react to him. He walked right up to him but didn't want to get in his lap. He was more excited about the other kids his size and playing with them. At least he didn't cry. I had so much fun watching him run around with the other kids. I need to find some kids his age for him to play with.

I am so excited about Christmas with Jasper this year. Last year he was so young he didn't know what was going on but this year I think he will be so much fun. So far he hasn't been concerned with the gifts under the tree. He is more interested in the ornaments. He calls them balls and thinks that they should be in the floor for him to play with. So, most days he is covered in glitter and I get to redecorate the tree when he goes to bed.

Fall Project

So....we moved into this house 7 months ago and there is still a ton of things I need to do. I didn't realize how hard it was to get things done when you work and have a baby. Today, I had a project for James. I have learned in the 13 years that we have been together that the best way to get something done is to start it and James will follow behind to finish. With that being said I have been wanting to redo some of the landscaping at our house. To get this done I decided to go ahead and purchase a few plants/flowers for this project in hopes that it would force James into to finishing. It worked. See the pictures below to see the progress.

Again.....I am sorry

I find that almost every post I feel the need to begin with an apology. It is hard to find the time to update in between work and raising a very active 15 month old boy. Jasper is into everything now and I mean everything. I can't believe how much he is growing. He amazes me everyday with what he is learning both good and bad. He definately has his mommy's temper which may not be such a good thing. I did survive our vacation without Jasper but he was definately mad at me when we returned. Here are a couple of recent pictures I hope you all enjoy.

Vacation

Well, I did it. James and I left for Hilton Head this morning and left Jasper at his grandparents. It feels strange to not constantly be looking out for him. I will admit that I started crying before we dropped him off but I have calmed down now. I still miss him but I know that we will have a wonderful time and Jasper will enjoy spending time with his grandparents. I will post more this week with some pictures.

Anniversary

OK I'm not doing well at blogging as often as I would like but I have been kinda busy. James and I celebrated our 10th anniversary this week. It's hard to believe we have been married 10 years....boy does time fly when you are having fun. Last night I went out for a much needed "girls night". We had a great time and was very entertained. For those of you wondering, I am still trying to decide on leaving Jasper with his Grandparents when we go to the beach. I'm sure this will be a last minute decision. Need opinions

Sorry I have not posted anything recently. We have been pretty busy. We are going on vacation in a few weeks and are actually thinking about leaving Jasper here with family while we go to the beach. I am a little hesitant to do this because I have never been away from Jasper for that long and I honestly don't know if I will be able to handle it. On the other hand, James & I would really enjoy the time together. I know some of you have done this recently and I am curious as to how it went. Here are a few recent pictures.

Picture Time

We had our pictures taken on Thursday. I wasn't sure if we were going to make it there was a dark cloud in London and I thought we were going to get rained out. Fortunately, the rain held off and we were able to finish. Here are a few........

Busy Weekend

We had a very busy weekend. First I worked Saturday morning then we were off to get ready for the cookout. We had a few people over to celebrate James' birthday. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures so I have none to share from Saturday. I will try to do better. :-) This past week we had some severe thunderstorms, so severe that we lost our bedroom tv and direct tv dish. I was content getting the tv fixed but James said he couldn't go without tv in the bedroom any longer. I actually think this was just a good excuse to get a bigger tv. So at 8:00 last night we headed out to Jacksboro, TN in search of the tv James had picked out. Jacksboro was the closest town that had it in stock. Needless to say by the time we returned we had a very sleepy boy. Talk to you all soon.

Jasper's First Birthday

It is hard to believe that Jasper recently turned one. I have always heard people say that kids grow up too fast and I never really gave it much thought until I had Jasper. Boy are they right. It doesn't seem like he should be one already. Jasper's birthday was May 22nd which is also my birthday as well. We had a cookout at the house with family and friends. We had two cakes, one for Jasper to play with and one for everyone else. After some help from James he got his hands all in the green icing. Here are a few pictures from that day.

Looking back

When I was looking in my picture file to find pictures to post it brought back many wonderful memories. This picture is from New Years 2008. Even if I was almost 5 months pregnant and the only person in the room that wasn't drinking....I still had a good time.

First Blog
