Fall has arrived!

I love fall weather but with fall come football. Not that I'm against football, it's just that at my house the NFL Sunday Ticket takes over my house on Sundays. Honestly, I really enjoy it. We have cookouts, corn hole and great company!! Here are a few pictures from last weekend.

Ducks!!

Yesterday James and I took Jasper to feed the ducks at Levi Jackson. He had such a good time. You can get so busy with everything going on in your life that you can forget about the small things that can mean so much to your children. We are planning to take him to the zoo when the weather cools down a little bit more. He is old enough now that he will enjoy little road trips more. I doubt he will remember them when he gets older but it will be something we will never forget. Anyone have any suggestions for some day trips for children?

Summer Lovin'

Since my last post James and I celebrated out anniversary. It's hard for me to believe that we've been married for 11 years. Time really does fly by. At times it feels like we've been married for 30 years and sometimes it feels like 1.

Jasper continues to amaze us every day. There is definately never a dull moment at our house. He is looking more like James every day.

Jasper at 2 years

I know he has been two for almost 2 months but I thought I would put up a few his pictures that we had done in May. I'm not really happy with them. He was tired and very hateful that day. The photographer did the best she could given the circumstances.

Summer 2010

I hope everyone is having a wonderful summer!!!! We have been busy. If you read my blog you know that we started a landscaping project last fall. It didn't go far then but we are working on it this spring/summer.

As you can see Jasper is a very good worker. :-)



He likes to work on the laptop but last night he said he needed a towel. So....he walked upstairs, got a bath towel and came back downstairs. When we saw what he was doing James and I couldn't help but be a little curious so we watched to see where he took the towel. He came over to the laptop and began wiping the screen. A little confused we continued watching him. It wasn't until he picked up a crayon that we realized he had "colored" on the screen. Luckily, it came off.

Happy Birthday Jasper................and me

Sorry I haven't posted in so long.

Yesterday we celebrated Jasper's birthday. He had such a good time. It was a beautiful day. Before anyone arrived at the house James and I let Jasper open one present. He has never shown any interest in opening presents so I really wanted to see if he would actually open his gifts. I peeled the paper back far enough so he could see Thomas the Train. That was all it took he ripped the paper off and was so excited. I told him to take it to Daddy to open. I went upstairs.....when I came back down James was in the kitchen. I went to check on Jasper with his new toy and he had already opened another present and was getting ready to open a third. I grabbed the unopened gifts and put them up. It was so cute.


Jasper got so excited with every present. We had such a good time with our family and friends. It was a perfect day..................not to mention it was also my birthday.

I also want to say congratulations to Katherine and Steve. They were married yesterday. Welcome to the family Steve!!!!

How many days until spring????

Ok. When will the snow end???? We have had more snow this winter than I can remember. I love the snow but seriously we have had enough. I am so ready for spring. It also seems like whenever it snows Jasper is either sick or just getting over a cold so he has not been able to play in it. He will look out the window and rub his hands together and say "oooohhhh". That is his translation for anything cold. It's really cute to watch.

He is also taking after James with his eating habits. Anything James is eating Jasper thinks he should be eating. He has also decided now that he likes ketchup. I tried putting his french fry in ketchup several months ago and he spit it out but now he thinks loves it. He will dip a french fry in it and lick it off then dip it again. He is a double dipper. LOL.

We also went to our cousin Carter's birthday party and Jasper had so much fun. He loves to be around other kids. I wish there was a play group or something that I could take him to. He was so tired when we left that he fell asleep before we got home.

Snow, snow and more snow

Well, this time the weather didn't disappoint. We got so much snow. Our road is still bad. Unfortunately Jasper has been sick and didn't get to go out and play in it. He is getting over a cold and has a runny nose and cough. I didn't want to risk it by taking him out. I know I'm a bad mommy. LOL. I hope everyone is having a good year so far.

Other than the cold Jasper is doing great. Tonight we are watching the Grammy's and he is dancing to every song. He definitely gets his dancing from his father. If there isn't anyone singing he is trying to give me the remote. When he does that it means it's time for cartoons. So, needless to say we are having a power struggle with the remote tonight.

In an earlier post I showed how Jasper will sit on the couch with a pillow in his lap just like James. Well, now he has started laying on the couch with a pillow and blanket just like his mommy!!!!


Mommy's Boy

Up All Night.

It's 3:25 am and I a wide awake. Jasper got up around 1:00, now he is fast asleep and here I sit bright eyed and bushy tailed. So, I thought I would post a little update.

While Jasper may be a Mommy's boy he definately is just like his Daddy.


I saw the channels changing on the tv and came in to find Jasper sitting just like Daddy does.

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas. I was so excited about Christmas this year with Jasper. Last year he was so small he didn't have a clue what was going on so I thought this would be a fun year. WELL..................he wasn't as excited as I had hoped he would be. Don't get me wrong he liked all the toys but he didn't understand the unwrapping concept. I was ready for him to be excited about Santa and everything that goes with it but maybe next year. I hope you all have a wonderful 2010.
